Grown

Do you remember when you became "grown"???

Probably not...but lets define grown

Is grown when you get out of line with your parents and your momma replies, "Oh you think you grown now!!!?"

Is grown when us as young men go to the barbershop and tell the barber to shape your mustache?

Probably not...so what is grown?

Grown is when you say to yourself ,"I need to grow up!!!"

I need to do better with myself,

I need to be more responsible

I see so many people that are caught up in their "second childhood"

Matter of fact some friends of mine, I believe actually don't talk to me anymore because I have grown

With growth comes wisdom, understanding, and honesty

Being grown is to know right and wrong and when we are weak and strong

My son thinks he's grown so does my daughter

They are in their own right

And I would rather my children understand the process of growth

Rather than stay a child forever

Don't rush it but take your time, but know when its time

To become grown

Making A Grown Man Cry....

Okay so Mark Cuban, owner of the
Dallas Mavericks, shouts at Kenyon
Martins mother after the Mavericks lost to the Denver Nuggets.

They say the quickest way to a man is thru his momma

I'd have to say absolutely!!!

However in listening to ESPN radio this morning, I was informed that Mark Cuban apologized for his actions.

Okay so case closed right???

Wrong!!!!

Memories of what have taken place in our lives affect us forever

Perhaps not to the point that you have to put the smack down on someone

But to the point of a man realizing how important things are to them

To bring this post full circle, as I looked at my facebook account I see people posting pictures

Tagging themselves, and sometimes tagging me

These pictures are pieces of the fabric of my memories

I would like to personally say thank you to everyone who has found a "little piece" of me

Just don't talk about my momma cause I won't forget!!!

Make No Mistake

Judges judge

Referees referee

Politicians politic

They all have screwed up in someway in their line of work

In the forever changing world, I wonder where I stand in this equation

One thing I have learned in the most recent years is not to be so judgemental

Men make choices, men make promises and men make mistakes

I tell my son everyday that everyone makes mistakes

What determines the character of a man is how they bounce back from their mistakes

The creator is notoriously merciful when it comes to our mistakes

In my years on this planet I have been forgiving for many

Be not bitter to those who do you wrong

Understand that there is reason for every action

Don't forget it, just forgive it

Make no mistakes about it the next time around

Timeless

My weight has fluctuated
The gym is like that girl that you love
But just can’t make that commitment to
My facial hair grows faster
The razor needs to embrace my face more often
Often overworked, underpaid and all that good stuff
Beard no baby face, by choice of course
But the hairs that curls up in my face and return as razor bumps
Resemble the wisdom that has been gained over the years
Everyone tries to defy the common law of age
A battle we can’t win because what is promised is the essence
But between the time of finding the exit out of the womb and the entrance into the after life
Information becomes a dynamic part of one’s way of life
Stored in a high security flanked vault in our minds that can never be infiltrated
Knowledge is critical something that rarely deteriorates within the infrastructure of the brain
The necessity of keeping our bodies in tact supersede the detrimental need to enlighten our own intelligence
Beauty or the Braun?
Body or the brain?
Model or the mind?
My stature will slowly reform before my intellect will
Cherish every memory and every Samoa cookie from the Girl Scouts
Mind over matter

Reasons (A Pre-requisite to Drayton)

Ever since my dude left for the service I have been questioning the "reasons" why people make the choices that they do. I mean, we are talking about a single guy with a very limited amount responsibilities. Makes good money, drives a nice car and lives a pretty normal life with normal obstacles that we all face. Anyhow, I received many questions from people who know us as just "barbers" working in a beauty salon. "What made him decide to take such a leap of insanity"? Fate. See, some people need to go absolutely left to find their own salvation and i respect him for that. In my current days I am learning to become less judgemental of others and more of a well wisher of what others are trying to do. I have had my own decisions to make that most people may or may not agree with. I commend Drayton for his decision and in our conversation his honesty. Life can pass us by quick and not making life altering decisions can be a thorn in our sides forever. Don't be afraid to make a decision, be afraid of not making one. For every one we make will have its own reason.

Decisions...

I'm sure everyone has had that time in their life where they had to make a decision that will totally alter the future. I have realized at my tender age (???), that I have been a dog chasing my tail for quite sometime. Some things we must simply let go. Heck, close one door open up another one. For those who REALLY know me you know where I am going withh this. Letting go of the things you love can take an enormous toll on you. I have found that I can let this particular "something" go and still have it present in my life. I have turned what was music to my ears into words for like minds to decipher. I think we all have that hard headedness in us. We are stubborn when it comes to thigs we want or desire. In closing we all need to remember, life is not about what we want to do but what we are meant to do.
